Thanks to the dedicated volunteers at the Park Point Community Club for crafting this new program for summer of 2016. Welcome to our new program director, Ms. Chloe Dryke and assistant Ms. Abi Holak.

Dates and Hours:

June 13-August 11; closed on Monday, July 4

Monday through Thursday, 8am-4pm

For ages:

For kids who are  kindergarten graduates through age 12; first priority for program sign-up will be given to Park Point residents and their family members.

Fees:

  • $450 for first child ($50 rebate per family if parent signs up to volunteer one day), 9 weeks
  • $350 for each additional child per family, 9 weeks
  • $60 per week per child (4 day week)
  • $20 daily fee per child

Details:

Bus fare for field trips is included in the fee; however additional costs for field trips are the family’s responsibility.

The PP Summer Youth Program PEACE IN THE PARKS COMMITMENT CONTRACT will be reviewed and signed on the first day of the program.  This is a required contract for participants and parents.

LUNCH WITH THE HISTORY PEOPLE

When: Thursday, June 16, 2016, from noon – 1 PM

What: Educator and local filmmaker Wendy Grethen will discuss Early Days of Minnesota Point”. Discover the history of this area and the people who settled there. Find out how it has changed over the years. According to Wendy, Minnesota Point was also considered “a hot spot for activities” as far back as the late 1800s. Learn more about one of Duluth’s most treasured landmarks that attracts both residents and tourists.

 

Where: The event will be held in the Underground on the first floor of the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center (the Depot), at 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, Minnesota.

There will be limited theater-style seating (no tables), but feel free to bring your own bag lunch.  Seating is first-come, first-served (no reservations). Admittance to this event is free to the public.  ARCO coffee is provided.
