PPCC Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20th

Our guest will be Thomas Beery, Resilience Specialist, Minnesota Sea Grant, University of Minnesota Duluth.[ Information about Tom and recent publications: http://www.seagrant.umn.edu/about/tom] Several club members have been gathering information on how to address the erosion issues on Park Point. Tom hopes to start a dialogue that will provide a better picture of the challenges ahead and how to best proceed toward solutions.

Enjoy The July Breeze!

Celebrate & Explore Minnesota Point on July 13 & 14

Park Pointers will table at the Maritime Museum during Lake Superior Days and host visitors at Lafayette.

A fleet of bikes will be available for bike tours from Lafayette at 11 am and 2pm on Saturday, July 14th.

Special events on Saturday, July 14th

U.S. Guard Duluth Station, 12th St. on the bayside

  • Tour of base, arrive & call at the gate at; 1 pm, bring ID, group limited to 20

St. Andrew’s by-the-lake Episcopal Church, 28th St., Lakeside

  • Building tours from noon to 2 pm

Lafayette Square Community Center, 30th St Block Lakeside

  • Lafayette Community Edible Garden, Hosted by members, from 10 am to 4 pm

 

  • Park Point Summer Youth Program, Driftwood Creations sale, from 10 am to 2 pm

 

  • Bike Fleet, at Lafayette Square. Free usage of bikes for adults and children. 60 to 90 minute bike tours of Minnesota Point, at 11 am and 2 pm.  Space is limited, arrive half an hour early to register for a bike and safety equipment.

 

Duluth Rowing Club, 39th St., Bayside

  • 60th Duluth International Rowing Regatta from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

 

Park Point Recreation Center, 48th – 50th St., Lake and Bayside
